Everytable Partners with Compton Unified School District to Launch First-Ever K–12 School District Meal Program

From Scratch, For Kids: Mission-Driven Meal Provider Now Serving Middle and High School Scholars in Compton

LOS ANGELES, August 12, 2025Everytable, the mission-driven company making fresh, scratch-cooked meals accessible to all, is proud to announce a groundbreaking new partnership with the Compton Unified School District (CUSD). This marks Everytable’s first time serving as the official meal provider for a public K–12 school district—bringing fresh, nourishing meals to K - 12 scholars across Compton.

From its retail shop on Compton Blvd, to its location at Compton College, and now the school cafeterias, Everytable’s presence in the Compton community continues to grow. And it’s just the beginning. Later this year, Everytable will also begin providing meals to seniors through The City of Compton’s Meals on Wheels program—extending its mission to nourish the community.

Every kid deserves a meal that’s fresh, delicious, and made with whole ingredients,” said Sam Polk, CEO and Founder of Everytable. “We started this company to make scratch-cooked meals accessible for everyone—and that includes scholars. With this partnership, we’re not just changing what school lunch looks like—we’re changing how it’s made, who it’s for, and how good it can really be.

"At Compton Unified, we are deeply committed to nourishing our scholars with meals that are fresh, wholesome, and thoughtfully prepared,” said Lani Izumi, Compton Unified Senior Director Student Nutrition Services. “Through our partnership with Everytable, we are elevating the standard of school meals—offering scratch-made dishes that are rich in flavor, high in quality, and crafted with our scholars' well-being at heart. This collaboration represents a bold step forward in fueling their health, enhancing their focus, and empowering their academic and personal success."

The new school meals program was designed specifically with kids in mind, inspired by feedback from the people who matter most: scholars themselves. Each meal is made from whole ingredients, prepared fresh daily in Everytable’s kitchen, and tailored to be balanced, flavorful, and kid-approved.

Everytable hosted a scholar tasting at Compton High School to preview new scratch-cooked meals for the upcoming K–12 menu. Scholars sampled dishes like Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Teriyaki, Pollo Asado, and a Chicken Parm Ciabatta Sandwich, and more—each made with fresh ingredients and bold flavors.

Their feedback was honest, enthusiastic, and invaluable. One scholar called it the “best school lunch ever,” while another praised the Pollo Asado for being “flavorful” with “juicy corn and rice filled with flavor.”

Their energy and excitement during the event only heightened anticipation among staff for launching these new options in the upcoming school year.

By extending the same scratch-cooked meals found across its 38 locations throughout California for dine-in, pickup or delivery into Compton school cafeterias, Everytable is closing the gap between what’s convenient and what’s healthy—whether it’s a school lunch, dinner at home, or meals delivered straight to a classroom, office or doorstep.

Examples of breakfast and lunch meals on the menu will include:

  • BBQ Chicken
  • Chicken Parm Pasta
  • Pollo Asado
  • Turkey Cheeseburger Mac & Cheese
  • Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Teriyaki
  • Mediterranean Chicken Couscous
  • Turkey Taco Bowl, Chicken Cheddar Melt
  • Cage Free Egg and Cheddar Sandwich and more.

Compton Unified is the perfect partner to launch this next chapter. With deep roots in the community and a shared commitment to equity, impact, and scholars' well-being, the collaboration embodies the values at the heart of Everytable’s mission.
