Everytable and Compton College Partner to Ensure Students Don’t Go Hungry During SNAP Lapse
Everytable Rolls Out Holiday Menu and Meal-Donation Campaign Encouraging Guests to Give Back
LOS ANGELES, October 29, 2025 – With millions of Americans bracing for an interruption in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the ongoing federal government shutdown, Everytable, the mission-driven company making nutritious, scratch- cooked meals accessible to everyone, and Compton College are partnering to ensure students can keep learning without worrying about their next meal.
Currently, all Compton College students receive one free meal per day, for a total of five meals per week, through the college’s partnership with Everytable. Thanks to Everytable’s centralized kitchen and distribution model, the partnership can scale up quickly in times of crisis. During the government shutdown, students will receive assurance of two meals per day, totaling ten meals per week — doubling the existing support for the duration of the SNAP lapse.
Beginning November 5, 2025, currently enrolled Compton College students with an active Compton College/CalFresh data-sharing agreement and CalWORKs participants will receive an additional five meals per week. Everytable and Compton College will share costs to feed eligible students, ensuring immediate, uninterrupted support throughout this period.
“Compton College’s mission is to eliminate barriers to student success, and food insecurity is one of the biggest barriers our students face,” said Dr. Keith Curry, President and CEO of Compton College. “We will not allow our students to go hungry because of government gridlock. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to ensure consistent, reliable access to healthy meals for all students. It’s made possible through our longstanding partnership with Everytable, which helps us provide stability, dignity, and nourishment, especially in times of uncertainty.”
“At Everytable, we believe access to good food is a basic human right, not a privilege that can be taken away by politics,” said Sam Polk, CEO and Founder of Everytable. “We’re proud to stand with Compton College to ensure students stay nourished, focused, and hopeful, even in the face of uncertainty. This program is part of Everytable’s larger strategy to make healthy food a foundation for opportunity.”

This collaboration builds on Everytable’s longstanding work to make scratch-cooked, affordable meals accessible to communities most impacted by food insecurity. Everytable and Compton College have partnered for seven years, and this initiative demonstrates how existing infrastructure can scale quickly in moments of crisis.
Everytable will prepare meals daily in its central kitchen and deliver them directly to Compton College for distribution. Menus will rotate and include favorites such as the Southwest Chicken Burrito Bowl, Jamaican Jerk Chicken with Rice and Beans, and plant-based options like the BBQ Tofu Bowl.
In addition to its work with Compton College, Everytable has a Pay It Forward program that can help individuals and families across California who may be affected by the SNAP benefits lapse. The program allows customers to purchase meals that Everytable donates directly to community members in need through trusted partners such as schools, shelters, and local nonprofits. Together, these efforts reflect Everytable’s mission to ensure everyone — from college students to working families — has access to fresh, affordable, and dignified meals, especially during times of uncertainty.
