This holiday season, Everytable teamed up with My Friend’s Place, an LA non-profit supporting unhoused young people, and their alumni member, Chef Shane Tavarez, to bring a special scratch-cooked meal and story to our menu.
Inspired by Shane's journey and the belief that friends become family, this meal highlights holiday favorites, including those loved by Shane and his late wife, Stephanie, who met at My Friend’s Place. In connection with this meal, Everytable is making a donation to My Friend’s Place to support their amazing work in the community.

Shane’s Story

At the heart of this collaboration is Shane Tavarez, a My Friend’s Place alumni whose journey is a testament of resilience and the transformative impact of finding a family along the way. For many of the young people who come through My Friend’s Place, the nonprofit serves as more than a refuge—it’s a place where friendships turn into family, and where hope is rebuilt one day at a time. 
After experiencing hardship in his early life, Shane found solace and guidance at My Friend’s Place. His culinary journey began when he picked up a cooking magazine and realized just how passionate he was about food. However, it was his wife, Stephanie, who became his greatest muse.
